How many wives is allowed in Mormonism

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the”Mormon” church) may have only one spouse at a time. A man may haveONE wife at a time. If he is divorced or his wife dies, he mayremarry. This means that over the course of his lifetime, a Mormonman might have more than one wife, but he can only have one wife ata time.
The Church did allow the practice of polygamy (having more than onewife) for approximately 50 years, between 1840 and 1890, based onthe practice found in the Old Testament. Any Mormon foundpracticing polygamy today will be excommunicated (kicked out).
