What is Nevada Senator Harry Reid’s stance on the federal Defense Of Marriage Act

In May 2012, Senator Reid announced that he supports the repeal of DOMA. Previously, he had stated publicly that he was opposed to same-sex marriage. In 1996, he voted to enact DOMA. However, in 2004, he voted against an amendment to the Constitution of the United States that would have also banned same-sex marriage.
